A survey by Talker Research reveals that two in five Americans say living in the US is no longer enjoyable.

A total of 39 percent say they often feel stuck where they live.

Additionally, five percent of the 2,000 adult Americans polled are actively planning steps toward living abroad, while two percent have already initiated the moving process.

Millennials are particularly keen on relocating, with a striking 25 percent expressing the desire to move internationally—the highest percentage among all generations surveyed.

This trend reflects challenges unique to millennials, including student debt and soaring housing costs.

Regionally, Midwesterners show slightly higher interest in moving abroad at 18 percent, compared to 16 percent in the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and West.

When asked about preferred destinations, Canada emerged as the clear favorite, with 19 percent of potential expatriates naming it as their top choice. Key attractions include Canada’s high-quality healthcare (41 percent), diverse landscapes (28 percent), and a practical approach to work-life balance (21 percent).

Italy follows as the second choice, appealing to 11 percent of respondents, who cite its renowned cuisine (68 percent), rich culture (66 percent), and stunning scenery (40 percent) as major draws.

A total of 58 percent of those surveyed say they've witnessed increased housing costs over the past five years.

Many are also concerned about the affordability of housing (50 percent), crime (40 percent), and making home repairs (35 percent).
